Dolpi (ドルピー) is one of the main characters in Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea. She is a humanoid dolphin and one of Wadanohara's familiars.
Physical Description[]
Dolpi has raceless white skin and short dark gray hair cut into a bob style; her dorsal fin protrudes from the top of her head and is somewhat small. She also has black scleras with white pupils and a dolphin tail matching her hair color.
She wears a dark blue sleeveless sailor-like dress reaching around hip-length with dark blue cuffs. The pocket edge, collar, edges of the cuffs, and bottom of the dress are accented with white stripes. The dress has six gold buttons on the front and two matching buttons on each cuff. Dolpi also wears white stockings and black buckle up shoes.
Personality[]
Although scared of sharks, bugs, and other "scary" things, Dolpi is normally nice and quiet. She loves to draw like Memoca, but Memoca constantly scares her for fun. She is also easily startled and grossed out. It is shown she sometimes speaks childish and simplistic sentences, occasionally and grammatically incorrect. Often times, these sentences only use one, two, or three words.
However, despite her timid and fragile personality, when something she cares about is being threatened (i.e. the sea, Wadanohara, etc.), Dolpi acts very angrily and doesn't seem to be fearful. In the Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea manga, she is seen chasing Memoca with an axe.
Her favorite color is yellow. [1] Her favorite food is cute steamed bread and her specialty is playing ball and dashing. [1]
Background[]
Dolpi was born in the sea. At some point in the past, she became Wadanohara's familiar.

Wadanohara[]
- This section is incomplete. You can help improve this article by expanding it.
Wadanohara is Dolpi's friend and master. She is usually protected or comforted by Wadanohara in a maternal manner. Wadanohara usually comforts her when she cries and scolds Memoca for teasing her. Along with Memoca and Fukami, Dolpi was one of the three familiars accompanying Wadanohara to the Witch World and returned with her to the Blue Sea. Dolpi was the second familiar to join Wadanohara after Memoca. [2]
Memoca[]
- This section is incomplete. You can help improve this article by expanding it.
Memoca is Dolpi's friend and a fellow familiar of Wadanohara. Memoca has a habit of scaring and teasing Dolpi to the point of tears for her own amusement; these shenanigans are usually put to an end by Fukami or Wadanohara. In the manga, Dolpi chased Memoca with an ax for teasing her too much. In spite of this, Memoca is quick to comfort Dolpi after Chlomaki compares her to a shark. Deep-Sea Prisoner has also said when Dolpi gets older, she will "get so much revenge" on Memoca. [3]
Fukami[]
- This section is incomplete. You can help improve this article by expanding it.
Fukami is Dolpi's friend and a fellow familiar of Wadanohara.
Samekichi[]
- This section is incomplete. You can help improve this article by expanding it.
Samekichi is Dolpi's fellow familiar of Wadanohara. Dolpi was extremely frightened of him for the first half of the game. Despite this, if the two were to ever arm wrestle, Dolpi would win. [4]
Other Characters[]
Minami[]
Minami and Dolpi are acquaintances. Although the two have yet to be seen interacting together, Dolpi refers to him as simply "Minami," suggesting they are close. [5]
Abilities[]
Skillset[]
- Mere Wielding - As can be seen in Dolpi's battle statistics, she wields a mere.
Natural Abilities[]
- Nigh-Absolute Immortality - Like most non-human characters in the Deep-Sea Universe, Dolpi cannot die from natural causes such as aging or disease. [6]
- Animal Transformation - Being a dolphin, she is able to switch between a humanoid and animal form.
Battle Statistics[]
Trivia[]
- Dolpi's name is derived from her species, "dolphin." [7]
- In the English translation of Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea by Vgperson, Dolpi is known as Dolphi. This is also the spelling used in the manga. Later, Deep-Sea Prisoner changed the romanization of Dolpi's name present on her character page to Dolpi. Why the name was changed is unknown. One possibility is the name change was meant to preserve the Japanese pronunciation whereas Dolphi would be pronounced as "doll-fee" and Dolpi as "doll-pi," which is closer in line with the Japanese pronunciation.
- Most of her moves seem to be based on dolphin show moves.
- Dolpi is afraid of sharks, even though in real life, sharks are the ones who usually fear dolphins.
- She has a sword as her favorite weapon.
- During Normal End 1 of Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea, the way Dolpi, Memoca, and Fukami died bear a striking resemblance to the nightmares Wadanohara had in-game. [8]
