Irena (イレーナ) is a mermaid from Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea. She is a friend of Wadanohara and resident of Deepsea Town. She is also currently missing from the character page.
Physical Description
Irena has strawberry blonde hair with a heart-shaped mark on the right side braided into two strands. Her bangs are layered and sideswept. She also has golden yellow eyes with white pupils, raceless white skin and a long mermaid tail the same color as her hair. She wears a burgundy kimono with lighter pink spots; the kimono also has fluffy white accents towards the end of both sleeves and hem of the garment.

Irena is shown to like naps and snacks. During a flashback in the game, Irena often sends Wadanohara on errands seeing as she cannot walk on land (much to Samekichi's dislike).

Relationships
Relatives
Reley Lo
Reley Lo is Irena's younger sister. From the artworks they have appeared in, they seem to be on good terms, although Reley is not often present due to her travels. Irena seems bothered by this but also does not mind because she knows Reley is alright based on the letters she has sent.
Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea Cast
Samekichi
Samekichi and Irena are acquaintances. Samekichi finds Irena somewhat annoying due to her frequently asking Wadanohara to complete errands for her; he once exclaimed Irena should grow some legs and do the errands herself. Irena in turn seems to like teasing Samekichi. She once teased him about his jealousy for Wadanohara, assuring him no one was going to take her from him, flustering him.
Despite this, they seem to get along somewhat alright. Samekichi once asked Irena what kind of present would make a girl happy. Irena knew he was referring to Wadanohara, so after teasing him for being a "lady-killer" she suggested an ocarina. Samekichi took this advice and indeed gifted an ocarina to Wadanohara, which she cherishes deeply to this day.
Wadanohara
Wadanohara is one of Irena's friends. Irena often sends Wadanohara to complete errands for her, such as getting apples. When Wadanohara came back to the Blue Sea, Irena asked if she wanted to sleep with her, to which Wadanohara declined because whenever the two sleep together, Irena squeezes her.
Tarako
Tarako is Irena's friend and neighbor. When Totsusa Soldiers invaded the Sea Kingdom, Irena comforted Tarako as they started to cry out of fear. During a flashback sequence where Wadanohara gave Irena some apples she enjoyed, she mentioned Tarako liked them as well, meaning she had shared them with them. They are frequently seen paired with Aom. When the Totsusa Kingdom arrived to attack, all three of them met up in Deepsea Town.

- She is one of the few characters in Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea not having an official character portrait yet. The others are Miyura, Nekoyama, and Squid.
