Lobco (ロブコ) is a lobster-shrimp hybrid from Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea. She is one of Chlomaki's familiars and often goes off with her away from the sea.
Physical Description[]
Lobco has raceless white skin and red curly hair falling to just below her shoulders. Four antennae-like hairs stick out the top; the front two long and the back two short. Her eyes are dark red in-game, but black in her official art and her pupils are a lighter red.
Lobco wears the uniform all of Chlomaki's familiars wear. It is black with eight yellow buttons on the front with two yellow stripes lining both sides of the buttons. The cuffs of her sleeves are a dark gray decorated with two yellow buttons, and at her shoulders her uniform is decorated with yellow epaulettes. Her skirt is also black. In her game sprite, a yellow line accents the edge of her skirt, but this is missing from her official art. A red chain can be seen hanging from the side of her skirt. A long red shrimp tail protrudes from under her skirt. Lobco also wears dark gray tights, white gloves, and knee-high black boots with white laces. She also has large breasts. [1]
Before becoming Chlomaki's familiar, Lobco wore sailor uniforms. [2]
Personality[]
It was said the moment Lobco leaves the sea, unlucky things befall her. She is pessimistic and believes most people dislike and find her annoying. She is also described to be a "crybaby" by her friend Aom. [3] In casual conversation, she appears very polite. She is quite cowardly as well. She enjoys photography, being home, and dislikes pain. As stated in the manga, her favorite color is pink. Her favorite food is anything not containing shrimp. She also likes seaweed. [4] She does not really enjoy eating meat, and if forced to, she will feel disgusted. [5] She also does not like caterpillars. [6] Lobco's specialty is "the ability to withstand Chlomaki messing around."
Lobco, furthermore, is not so great at communicating with others so she does not have many friends - almost "zero." [7] She is always forgotten by everyone. [8] She is, however, on good terms with Chlomaki's other familiars. [7]
As a child, Lobco longed to become a witch, for she found magic very intriguing. [3] However, due to Chlomaki's bullying, her opinion on witches drastically changed.
Lobco is not particularly good with her hands, and thus, does not really do any arts and craft activities while in Roc's home; she will mostly read a book or watch television. [9] However, Lobco is not a fan of horror movies. [10] Lobco does not like land and would rather be in an aquarium or tank. [7] She prefers small spaces and would rather stay at the edge of a small aquarium as she feels safe there. [11] Lobco is from the sea so she is not good at cleaning on land. [11]
Background[]
Born in the Blue Sea, Lobco is the daughter of Doloz and Cherryblod. She is a half-lobster and half-sakura shrimp hybrid. [12] Like her father, Lobco has distant demon blood in her veins. [13] Lobco does not know she has distant demon blood in her veins; if she knew about it, she would still feel like a shrimp and have nothing to do with demons. [13]
When she was older, Lobco became Chlomaki's familiar and began to accompany her on her travels.

Relationships[]
Relatives[]
Doloz[]
Doloz is Lobco's mother. They are on good terms.
Cherryblod[]
Cherryblod is Lobco's father. Lobco and Cherryblod appear to have a good relationship with each other, although Lobco is unaware of her father's past. Cherryblod is unaware of Lobco's situation with Roc. [7] When she is being held captive by Roc Hijoushiki, she cries for her father to come save her.
Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea Cast[]
Chlomaki[]
Chlomaki is Lobco's master. Lobco joins Chlomaki on many of her errands and also accompanied Chlomaki to the Blue Sea in Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea. While Chlomaki cares for Lobco, she dearly enjoys teasing and bullying her to tears. She will often hit Lobco, sometimes with or without reason. She will fly too fast on her broom which will often cause Lobco to fly down. [15] She has forced Lobco to drink alcohol on multiple occasions, one time being during the Blue Sea festival in Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea as well. Though Lobco is often troubled and bothered by how Chlomaki treats her, she still follows her orders and assists her when needed. For instance, Lobco felt reluctant when Chlomaki offered her blood in order to kill a group of Totsusa Soldiers who were cornering Wadanohara and her familiars, but did so either way. She also speaks respectfully with Chlomaki, referring to her as "Chlomaki-sama" ("Lady Chlomaki").
As a child, Lobco longed to become a witch because magic was intriguing to her. [15] However, due to Chlomaki’s behavior towards her, Lobco's opinion on witches drastically changed. [15]
Lobco used to follow Chlomaki on foot in her shrimp form. This would cause Chlomaki to instinctively pounce on top of Lobco, and as such, she began riding on the brim of Chlomaki’s hat instead.
It has been said Chlomaki is aware of Lobco's situation with Roc but not physically strong enough to do anything about it. [7] Since she feels there is nothing she can do against Roc, and Lobco is not being treated too poorly in her eyes, she is staying away from the situation. [16]
Aom[]
Aom is Lobco's best friend. In Aom's home, there is a photograph of her with Lobco.
Since Lobco is pessimistic and spends majority of her time outside of the sea, Aom worries about her a lot. When Aom confronted Lobco about working with Chlomaki and asked if it was stressful, Lobco chose to lie about having fun outside of the sea and Aom believed her.
Wadanohara[]
Wadanohara is Lobco's friend, typically seen interacting with her when around Chlomaki. Wadanohara attempts to cheer up Lobco whenever she is upset. Since Lobco grew up in the Blue Sea with Wadanohara, Deep-Sea Prisoner said, "Speaking in a wider sense, you could call them childhood friends." [17]
Memoca[]
Memoca and Lobco are acquaintances. After Lobco corrected her, Memoca became annoyed and started teasing her by throwing slugs at her.
Satanick's Subordinates[]
Roc Hijoushiki[]
- Main article: Roc Hijoushiki and Lobco (Relationship)
Roc is Lobco's kidnapper and love interest. She is his pet and girlfriend. [18] Most of their interactions take place within Roc's home, where Roc keeps Lobco confined.
Not much is currently known about Roc and Lobco's meeting, and Lobco's subsequent capturing. What is known is that Lobco was kidnapped by Roc after the events of Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea and now stays confined in his home. In their early relationship, Roc was less gentle with Lobco because he had not gotten to know her yet. [12] This can be seen in an older illustration where Roc is throwing knives at Lobco. [12]
Roc has assaulted and harassed Lobco on numerous occasions, such as when he drugged her in a Poor Shrimp-based mini-comic to make her lay unfertilized eggs that he later ate in front of her. He does not physically hurt (e.g. hit) Lobco. [7] The one time she bled was the night she lost her virginity. [8] In response to Roc's actions, Lobco either appears as unamused or frightened.
One Skeb commission features Lobco in a wedding dress, which is said to be from Roc's point of view. [19] Another Skeb commission depicts Lobco and Roc getting married. Deep-Sea Prisoner has since confirmed that Roc and Lobco may get married in the future. [20] They may also have children. [21] Lobco's antenna may also someday change into a heart shape just like Roc's ahoge, hinting at their developing relationship. [22]
In Funamushi Private Deep-Sea Academy, Roc and Lobco's dynamic is similar, except Lobco is not kidnapped by Roc. [23] However, he is trying to force her to become his girlfriend. [13]
Kyou[]
Kyou and Lobco are acquaintances. Kyou once commented on her being Roc's pet in a Skeb commission. Lobco in turn seemed afraid of him. Deep-Sea Prisoner chose Kyou of all subordinates to be with Lobco because he is "decent" and is one of the relatively taller subordinates who Lobco would be afraid of. [24]
Lec Hijoushiki[]
Lec is an acquaintance of Lobco's. The two met when Roc brought Lobco in to be examined by him in a mini-comic.
Various[]
Fungas Crocodile, Mikaduki, Shiduku, & Silone[]
They are Lobco's fellow familiars and on good terms. [7] They are also unaware of the abuse Lobco suffers from at the hands of Roc Hijoushiki. When she goes missing, Lobco's fellow familiars think, "Oh, huh, Lobco's been gone for a while." [16]
Met[]
Met and Lobco have not been seen interacting yet, but Deep-Sea Prisoner has said Met hits on Lobco because she likes cute girls. [7]
Zero Hitotose[]
Zero is an acquaintance of Lobco. As seen in a Skeb illustration, Zero picked her up, commenting, “What’s with this shrimp…” as Lobco screamed in terror. Roc then comes and impales Zero. Zero views Lobco as "a small insect." [25]
Abilities[]
Natural Abilities[]
- Nigh-Absolute Immortality - Like most non-human characters in the Deep-Sea Universe, Lobco cannot die from natural causes such as aging or disease. [26]
- Animal Transformation - Being a lobster-shrimp hybrid, she is able to switch between a humanoid and animal form.
- Underwater Breathing - Being an aquatic hybrid, she can naturally breathe underwater.
Skillset[]
- Blood Empowerment - In Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea, Lobco is forced to use an ability consisting of licking some of Chlomaki's blood to decimate a huge number of Totsusa Soldiers.
Battle Statistics[]
- Although Lobco is inaccessible in battle, code of Lobco's supposed stats can still be found in Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea's game's data.
Trivia[]
- From 28 June to 3 August, 2017, Deep-Sea Prisoner hosted a popularity poll that let people vote on their three most favorite characters of hers. When the results came out on 7 September, 2017, Lobco was ranked 21st. [27]
- There are translation conflicts regarding Lobco's species. In the English translation of Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea, she is stated to be a lobster — which is also the species of her mother Doloz. However, in the English translation of the Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea manga, Lobco is stated to be a shrimp. Supplementary work of Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea as well as other media also allude to Lobco being a shrimp. The original Japanese game also refers to her as "a shrimp" (エビ). Deep-Sea Prisoner has since clarified Lobco is a hybrid, being both lobster and shrimp. [12]
- Deep-Sea Prisoner has stated Lobco tastes like shrimp; she has a sweet flavor. [12]
- In a Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea -Reboot- bonus scene, Lobco once said, "When will Chlomaki call me over next? I might as well be eaten by a demon. This might make me more relaxed......" These words set the scene for Lobco's subsequent encounter with Roc Hijoushiki.
- During her first livestream, Deep-Sea Prisoner said both Lobco and Roc are quite easy for her to draw. [4]
- When asked if Lobco would have children, Deep-Sea Prisoner said maybe one day she may eventually lay a fertilized egg. [28]
- Lobco survived the slaughter of the Blue Sea during Normal End 1 of Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea due to escaping with Chlomaki. Deep-Sea Prisoner added that Lobco is easily forgotten, which may have also contributed to her survival. [8]
- Lobco’s male counterpart would be named Lobo. [29]
- Deep-Sea Prisoner has said she may draw Lobco meeting Satanick's subordinates in the future. [24]
- The feathers in the feather duster Lobco has in a Skeb commission are from Taffy. [11]
